We Want a New Drug. Err, Blog.

So we’ve been batting about ideas for a new blog or a new direction for the old blog or a broadening of the subject matter of the old blog to incorporate the new subject matter that is the day-to-day reality of the business. As it stands. Or rather, moves. For now, that is.

The new subject matter is social media/web 2.0 for business, or as we like to say, ‘the web, as it happens to be evolving,’ as applied to business. Pithy, ain’t it? Yeah, we can see why 2.0 caught on, where our articulation of the concept is still, well, not ready for primetime. Ok then, “Social Media” is less repugnant than forcing something as messy and massive as the web into integers of any stripe.

But we digress.

We embraced Social Media to build the presentations business. It worked really well. Now the presentations business is building social media. And the personal brand is building social media. And we are asked to speak about both. And consult on both. And think and write about both.

So watch this space for the emerging best practices practice cka (currently known as) “Social Media Consulting”…

Aaaaaaaaanyhow.

The idea is that this is in some ways a second blog. We’d call it a blog about social media consulting, except that we learned our lesson with the presentations blog and want to keep it wide open. So the topic matter of this yet unbranded (possibly to be named Brainsieve) blog is wide open.

If Brainsieve grows as a blog platform, can two distinct chronological “blog pages” be run on a single site? i.e., a “column”of presentations blog entries on one page and a column of them on the NKOTB page?

If Brainsieve becomes a tabbed site that merely aggregates pages from elsewhere, how to coordinate and “dip into” the feeds from two different blogs plus all the other stuffs? Huh. We don’t know.
